Keynote speaker on human capability

Better questions. Extraordinary results.

I'm Scott McLaughlin (Scotty M), a keynote speaker on human capability: curiosity, decision-making, how AI can supercharge people and what it can never replace. I've keynoted for Microsoft Australia, the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Fonterra and the Global Foodbanking Network, addressed the Global Humanitarian Leadership Conference, and appeared on ABC's 7.30 and Microsoft Tech Talks.

I've grown brands by 10 to 15 times revenue in under two years, in startups, ASX Top 50 and multinational companies. During the COVID-19 pandemic I invented the Hunger Map for food relief in Australia, a global first for the social sector. I've built a reputation for finding a way: applying curiosity in the face of adversity and significant competition.

Human capability, from two directions

Human capability is the focus. Curiosity is how people and organisations grow it; AI is the technology of the moment that tests it. Two keynote tracks, presented together, and every keynote rebuilt for the room.

What leaders say

It was very eye opening. Key takeaways were all related to thinking outside the square with collecting, analysing and decision-making using data which is qualitative over quantitative.
Kate Save
CEO & Co-founder, Be Fit Food · Masterclass participant
Having trained and coached so many leaders in business, I found Scott's Masterclass so refreshingly on point. No one has time to waste drowning in data; leaders simply want to make better-informed decisions. This session was paradigm-shifting and immediately relatable. Highly recommend.
Renée Giarrusso CSP
CEO, RG Dynamics · Certified Speaker and LinkedIn Top Voice
Scott is a highly charged and expert practitioner in the tools required for organisational optimisation. He has many years of experience in the real world as a sales and marketing guy for large international FMCGs, and is now sharing his knowledge in a broader market space.
Mark Mazurek
CEO, Linfox Australia & New Zealand
Scott has constantly pushed new boundaries with his thinking during my 8 years of working with him. He is a good strategic thinker and can often give great perspective to challenges and opportunities.
Matthew Graham
Chief Growth Officer, Mars Global Food & Nutrition
It is his uncanny ability to crystallise the data, unlock the market insights and then set a successful strategy. Let Scott inside your business and you will gain from his expertise and see results.
Andrew Lloyd
CEO and Non-Executive Director
Scott was instrumental in tripling business revenues and profits within 18 months in a challenging business environment, and up against some of the biggest global players in the market.

About

Meet Scotty

I never set out to make a career from curiosity. I set out to build things: teams, brands and businesses. Along the way I realised that what separates average results from extraordinary ones isn't strategy. It's the quality of the questions being asked.

Today I lead The Art of More, I'm completing a doctorate at Warwick Business School on why curiosity gets suppressed as organisations scale, and I'm writing my first book.

What is Love?

A tribute to my mentor of nearly thirty years, Dr Colin Benjamin OAM: on odds and worth, partial truths, and why love is what refuses to let the numbers have the final word.
